Up against one of the best teams in Europe, and current leaders of D1, the Girondines endured a tough afternoon.
The process of adapting to life in the top flight continues for the Girondines, who gave their all against a team composed primarily of internationals.
After dominating from the get-go, Lyon scored their first goal in the fifteenth minute courtesy of Majri. Claire Lavogez got the next in the 23rd minute. Bordeaux tried to fight back, but they were 3 goals down at half time, Hegerberg having added to the tally in the 30th minute.
OL dominated the second half two, forcing an own goal from Chloé Mustaki and then adding two more while Bordeaux lost Chloé Billaud to injury.
Lyon scored two more before the end, with Bremer and Lavogez adding insult to injury. And yet, without Alizée Nadal's agile performance in goal it could have been worse still.
Team sheet: Nadal, Hamidouche (c), Mustaki, Saboulard, Elicèche, Billaud (puis Montegut), Sumo, Istillart, Salomon, Ouinekh (puis Mannon), Cambot.
The Girondines will be in action again next Sunday (16th October), travelling to Guingamp for a 15:00 kick off.
