Diego Rolan came on as a sub as Uruguay lost to Ecuador in their first World Cup 2018 qualifier.
Called up to the Uruguayan national squad, Diego Rolan started the weekend's game against Ecuador on the bench. He came on in the 63rd minute to replace Nicolas Lodeiro, with Ecuador already 2-1 up at Quito's Estadio Olimpico Atahualpa.
Caicedo (23’) and Martinez (59’) got the goals, with Cavani scoring for Uruguay in the 49th minute. Diego Rolan's best efforts were not enough to overturn that deficit.
The Uruguayans will have a chance to pick up some points tomorrow (17 November) in their home game against Alexis Sanchez's Chile.
