Bordeaux return from Corsica with a much-needed point. Gaëtan Laborde equalised in the 78th minute, after Bifouma gave Bastia the lead early in the second half. Bastia had Florian Marange sent off late on. The Girondins fought hard to earn this draw in a tough away fixture.
The Girondins came away from Parc OL with a fantastic result, after a genuinely superb performance! Despite conceding in the first minute of the game, the Girondins kept their cool. Malcom (31') equalised, and Grégory Sertic put Bordeaux ahead (71'). In the dying seconds of the game, Jérémy Ménez put Lyon's comeback hopes to bed (90'). In fairness to Lyon, Gonalons got sent off (67') and Lacazette limped off injured with no substitutes left to replace him (87'). The Girondins became the first team to win at Parc OL this season, and moved (albeit briefly) to the top of the L1 table. Well played boys!
After two encouraging pre-season friendlies - a 1-0 win over Pau and a 2-1 loss to AC Milan despite a strong showing in the second half - the Girondins de Bordeaux continued their preparations for the new Ligue 1 seaosn with another friendly against Athletic Bilbao. The Basque club finished 5th in La Liga last season, and this promised to be a tough challenge.
The Girondins de Bordeaux welcomed Sporting Club Bastia to the Matmut ATLANTIQUE this Sunday afternoon. Bordeaux scored first in the second half, but conceded an equaliser a few minutes later and ended up sharing the points.
The Girondins' run of invincibility at home has come to an end! After more than two months without losing at the Matmut Atlantique, Bordeaux went down 4-1 to Saint-Etienne. In an intense, fast-paced game it was the visitors' pragmatism which won out. The Girondins enjoyed plenty of possession, but failed to capitalise.
