Girondins 3-2 winners after a crazy end to the game
For their 14th outing of the Ligue 1 season the Girondins de Bordeaux hosted Dijon FCO, hoping to rack up another home win. Bordeaux ended up 3-2 winners, snatching triumph from the jaws of defeat thanks to a last-minute brace from François Kamano!
The Girondins came away from Parc OL with a fantastic result, after a genuinely superb performance! Despite conceding in the first minute of the game, the Girondins kept their cool. Malcom (31') equalised, and Grégory Sertic put Bordeaux ahead (71'). In the dying seconds of the game, Jérémy Ménez put Lyon's comeback hopes to bed (90'). In fairness to Lyon, Gonalons got sent off (67') and Lacazette limped off injured with no substitutes left to replace him (87'). The Girondins became the first team to win at Parc OL this season, and moved (albeit briefly) to the top of the L1 table. Well played boys!
The Girondins de Bordeaux faced FC Lorient a week after their victory in Troyes, racking up a second consecutive victory. In control from start to finish, Ulrich Ramé's boys won by a decisive three goal margin. Cheick Diabaté scored twice (21', 48'), after Malcom put Bordeaux ahead early on (12').
The Girondins needed to bounce back from the mid-week disaster in Lille, and they did so in style! Rennes were on the sharp end of a brace from Cheick Diabaté (28’, 51’), whose good run of form continues. Diego Rolan (67’) and Thomas Touré (90+2’) added to the tally, as Bordeaux swept Rennes off the park.
Girondins thrashed by Lille in League Cup semi-final
Bordeaux won't be going to the Stade de France just yet - their flying start to 2016 has come crashing down. The Girondins suffered their first defeat in 11 matches tonight, beaten by Lille in the League Cup semi-final. Benzia (7'), Sané (41' o.g.), Soumaoro (44'), Bauthéac (56') and Boufal (90') got the goals for Lille, with Clément Chantôme's 33rd-minute equaliser a footnote. The Girondins need to pick themselves up, dust themselves down as look ahead to the game against Rennes this Sunday.
It all started so well... Diego Rolan gave Bordeaux the lead in the 38th minute. But after the break things were very different indeed. Lorient equalised then took the lead courtesy of Moukandjo (48'), Waris (64') and Touré (80'). Substitute Adam Ounas reduced the gap late-on (89'), but Lorient held out for the win.
Bordeaux round off their training camp with a crushing victory
The Girondins took on SG Going on Wednesday afternoon, for their first pre-season friendly. Bordeaux thrashed the local team easily (0-12). This wasn't so much a match as a training session, such was the gulf between the two sides. But the Girondins showed great respect and took their opponents seriously until the very end. Smiles all round at the end, from our players and the amateurs.
After a closely-fought game in which chances were few and far between, the home faithful at Stade Chaban-Delmas were treated to a breathless finish. Nicolas Maurice-Belay snatched victory with a goal in the final minute.
